Adisadel (white) against Mfantsipim

Mfantsipim (red) piped Adisco to the final.
The next edition of Ghana’s High School Basketball Championship (Sprite Ball) will have Adisadel College compete after the school booked its place to the games via a third place finish at the Central Regional qualifiers.

The National games will be played at the El Wak Stadium in Accra from January 4-6, 2018 with Adisco among 26 schools due to participate.

Adisadel beat surprise package Insaniyya Senior High School 27-25 to clinch bronze at the regional games played recently in Cape-Coast at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

The team was made to work hard for the win as Insaniyya threatened several times to pip them to the last slot for the region.

Beating Mfantsipim in the final Group B game would have sealed Adisadel’s place at next year’s Sprite Ball but the team fell 16-19. The first half was tied at 9 before slack play gave Mfantsipim an opportunity to put the game to bed.
Mfantsipim moved on to beat St. Augustine’s College 20-18 in the final to clinch yet another regional title for the record national winners.

The trio will be joined by reigning National Champions Wesley Girls High School and Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion in the girls division as representatives.
