Ferroviario de Beira of Mozambique and Union Sportive Monastirienne of Tunisia has received Wild Card selections to this year’s FIBA Champions Cup.

Both teams missed out on securing automatic places at the continental tournament in qualifiers which ended early this week.

However, the selections handed FIBA Africa puts them in line to compete for the chance to upstage reigning champions Al Ahly of Egypt.

The competition will be played in Tunisia from December 11-20 with 12 teams set to participate in the nine day tournament.

Participating teams qualified from zones dotted over Africa for the Championship with Monastirienne falling behind AS Sale of Morocco and GS Petroilers of Algeria.

The Zone 1 qualifiers featured six teams from the North African region with Sale and Petroilers securing top spots ahead of the Wild Card recipient.

Ghana side Braves of Customs will not feature in the competition after placing fourth Zone 3 qualifiers featuring teams in West Africa.

Third placed team Mark Mentors of Nigeria also missed out on one of two Wild Card slots.
