NBA Vice President and Managing Director for Africa Amadou Gallo Fall has a lot to celebrate as his his birthday coincides with a rapid growth of basketball on the continent.

The former NBA player turned Administrator marked the joyous occasion reflecting on the progress made in promoting the sport in Africa particularly during his tenure.

Fall was recently in Ghana to lay the foundations for the start of the Junior NBA League in the West African country due to commence next year.

Following an extensive list of successes, Fall was recently recognized as African Leader in Sports; he is a heavy advocate of sport “as a conduit for positive social change”.

In his time as Manager, NBA stars have trooped to the continent to feature in the “NBA Africa Game”; the last edition of the exhibition game took place in Johannesburg, South Africa in August.

Aside administering the NBA’s policies in Africa and other parts of the world, Fall is the founder of SEED Project-a non governmental program that aids youth in Senegal secure education scholarships in American high Schools and Colleges.

Minnesota Timberwolves Center Gorgui Dieng is a product of the Project and made the headlines recently when his philanthropic acts to a hospital in his country came to the limelight.
