Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) is one of two Western Regional representatives at the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship in the male division; St. John’s School also represents the region.

After triumphing over Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) at the regional games to clinch a spot to the national event, the school has another steep climb ahead.

Following the draw witnessed by Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports, TTI has been drawn in Group A.

The team will play against Mfantsipim School, Keta Senior High Technical School and Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) in the preliminary stage.

Mfantsipim has won the tournament four times including three straight wins from 2011 to 2013 while Keta won the 2014 edition.

TTI is yet to qualify to the quarter finals in the competition’s 11 year history despite making successive appearances in prior editions.

This year’s competition takes place from January 4-6 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 16 and 10 schools competing in the male and female divisions.
