Prempeh College and T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School have recorded close wins in the Sprite Ball Championship after double overtime.
Prempeh beat St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School 15-14 after two overtimes after the game ended tied on 12 at the end of regulation.
Both teams were tied on 14 at the end of the first over time before the Kumasi-based Prempeh side clinched the win with a buried free throw.
Neither team was efficient from the charity stripe as several members of either team squandered several chances from free throw range.
The win clinches Prempeh’s spot in the quarter finals; the team needs a win against St. John’s School to secure top spot
In the girls division, Ashanti Region representative T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School beat Accra Wesley Girls High School 17-15.
Both teams were tied on 14 at the end of regulation and couldn’t be separated with the conclusion of the first overtime.
T.I. Ahmadiyya’s male side beat PRESEC-Legon 18-8 to record its first win in the tournament.
