Competition in the division has ended with University of Cape-Coast’s (UCC) female team claiming gold ahead of rival University of Ghana (UG).
The win is the UCC’s second straight gold medal following its triumph at the last edition held at the University of Education-Winneba.
Winning back to back titles confirms UCC as the best team in Ghana’s tertiary female basketball field with the likes of former Ghana Basketball Awards winner Yayra Kluiboto featuring for the side in previous editions.
For UG, winning silver is a marked improvement considering the team completely missed out on a medal at the last competition in 2016.
Ghana’s premier tertiary institution was slapped with a ban on technical grounds regarding the eligibility of a player.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) placed third in the competition.
