University of Saskatchewan Male Basketball Coach Barry Rawlyk has heaped huge praise on new recruit Maxwell Amoafo from Ghana.

The talented Forward joined the Huskies recently following a lengthy process which had delays due to visa problems.

Described as a raw but powerful frontcourt player especially in the post, the Ghanaian’s arrival is a welcome addition to the Canadian side.

After playing limited minutes immediately after his arrival in North America, Amoafo has adapted to his new environment pretty quickly and recorded a 15 point, 13 rebound double double in an 82-80 Huskies win over Vikings.

Rawlyk chimed on his impressive performance stating, “He’s an outstanding young man, really a quality kid. He’s very eager to learn. He’s got a strong work ethic and he certainly has the physical tools to become a very, very good player. We’re going to work with him and, in time, we feel he can develop into a very good student-athlete here.”

Saskatchewan plays on Friday February 16 at Calgary.
