The final event prior to the Tema Basketball League 2018 season, Battle Ground Tournament, has tipped off with a bevy of exciting games.
The competition is due to end on March 11 and games will be played at Tema’s Community 4 Court following tip off on February 18.
However, the home side and reigning Tema League Champions had little to celebrate as Nungua Coldstore clinched a 38-23 win.
The tie which had former league winners Coldstore battle it out with the defending champions C4 was the final game of the opening round with three games preceding it.
Two time league runner up Ashaiman Lions clinched a 37-31 win over Teshie Rangers in the opening game at 15:00 GMT.
Tema Community 2 beat Ghana Police 50-38 in the second game with Police fielding a relatively weaker side without its starting backcourt of Emmanuel Dickson and Benjamin Debrah.
Police and Ashaiman’s wins were recorded in Group A.
2016-2017 league bronze medalist Tema Heat clinched a 39-22 win over Akatsi Rifles towrap up matters in Group B.
