All Nations lost 31-33 to Koforidua Technical University in the first game of this year’s Championship at Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary.
The result is a shock since All Nations represented the zone at the 2017 national competition and has fielded a roster laced with experienced players including Elvis Pobi-Siaw.
Turnovers hurt the team late on in the game when the score was close; earlier in the game, Koforidua outrebounded All Nations to score on second chance opportunities.
Presbyterian University College has failed to turn up for today’s competition meaning the defending regional champs must win its next fixture.
The team takes on Ho Technical University next in the competition in need of a win to stay in contention for a place at the national phase.
Only group winners make it to the next stage of the much heralded tournament.
