All Nations University College Sports Chairperson Bernard Obi has described his team’s qualification to the next stage of the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship as exciting.
He made this statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com on the sidelines of the Adu Sarkodee Basketball Court at Pope John Senior High School after qualifying from the zonal competition.
All Nations topped Zone 1 of this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) ahead of Ho Technical University and Koforidua Technical University (KTU).
The team clinched its second straight zonal title by securing a superior goal difference with all three sides winning one of two games.
All Nations will compete in the national games in April and Odu was delighted with the outcome stating:
“The feeling is very exciting. Well naturally the tension was so high as the first match, we narrowly lost to KTU but all the same the feeling was great”
KTU beat All Nations 33-31 but the latter secured 45-32 win over Ho Technical University to scrape through to the national games.
