Basketballghana.com gathers plans are far advanced to have wheelchair basketball players be frequently present at more able bodied competitions.

This according to Ghana’s Wheelchair Federation Media Coordinator Sandy Asiedu who doubles as official for the Tema Basketball League.

In an interview with Ghana’s leading basketball portal, Asiedu stated the aim is for players of the wheelchair basketball community to be more visible.

“We will see our men in wheelchair gracing the Tame Court in curtain raisers from time to time…an opportunity to fraternize with the able bodied basketball players. Its mu idea to make sure we foster a great relationship with each other since it’s the same game with the only difference being the wheelchair” he said.

Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball Team-Black Chariots- has been invited to participate in an invitational competition in Canada from April 27-29.

The team commences training on April and ends on April 18 ahead of April 20’s departure from Ghana; Black Chariots are the only African team invited.

The 2018 Tema League is set to commence on April 1.
