Basketballghana.com can confirm a meeting involving representatives from Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball Federation and National Sports Authority (NSA) has been held.

The meeting which had a representative from Ghana’s National Paralympics Committee (NPC) took place with time winding down for Ghana to honor an invitation to feature in an international wheelchair basketball tournament.

Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball team-Black Chariots-is the only team invited from Africa to compete in the tournament which will be held in Canada from 27.

Deputy Director of Ghana’s NSA Majid Bawa, Wheelchair Federation President Max Vardon and Secretary General Wilson Agbasi, NPC President Rev. Bishop Adjacoffie and NPC Secretary held the meeting.

Per information from Wheelchair Federation Media Coordinator Sandy Asiedu, “the meeting was successful and all parties have resolved to work on the documents for the team”.

The meeting comes at a crucial time where all stakeholders need to resolve severed ties to prevent Ghana from losing out on another international competition.

The Black Chariots could not feature in the African Wheelchair Championship last year due to lack of funds and missed out on contending for the continent’s sole spot at the 2018 World Cup in November.
