UG (blue) v Central

Central (Red) v Pentecost
Information reaching Basketballghnaa.com indicates Central University is not competing in this year’s Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG).

The tertiary institution has failed to show up for the 2018 edition which commenced on Tuesday April 3 and is set to end on Friday April 6.

The games are taking place at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi with several athletes competing in multiple sports disciplines.

However, Central has withdrawn from competing due to reasons that border on administrative issues from the institution.

Central’s Male Basketball Team headlines the institution’s sports contingent and has been affected by the change of plans.

The team recently featured in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in Accra.

Central recorded two wins in three games but that was not enough to get the side out of the preliminary stage to the national competition of the tournament.

Central beat Pentecost University College and Radford University College but lost to defending UPAC Champions University of Ghana.

Prior to the withdrawal, Central was expected to contend for the PUSAG title.
