Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I heavyweight Tema Youth is doing just fine without Head Coach Emmanuel Quaye’s absence on the team’s bench.

Veteran Trainer Quaye is in Kenya with Braves of Customs Female Team to compete in an international basketball event and is expected in Ghana on Saturday May 26.

After departing Ghana on May 17, Tema Youth have been involved in two league games and won both despite playing shorthanded.

For its 66-64 win over Reformers of Prisons, Tema had just five players available; earlier tonight, the team clinched a 56-55 win over Tudu Magic with six players on the team list.

Under the guidance of Assistant Coach Henry Sowah, the team has coped well and its latest win over Magic was accomplished after the team came back from 45-55 deficit with three minutes left in the final quarter.

Quaye is likely to be available for the crunch tie against defending league champions Braves of Customs on June 1 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.
