Police dominate Accra League standings close to midseason

Ghana Police Service Teams are in fine form days to the end of the first round of the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL).

The Male side leads the Men’s Division I with the Female side in first place in the Women’s Division as the first round ends this weekend on Saturday June 16.

Police’s Men’s team beat Tema Youth 61-55 in the past round to replace Tudu Magic as leaders in the division; the win is the team’s sixth in seven games which gives them 13 points.

The team will be in action on Wednesday June 13 against Braves of Customs at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu; Braves rank fifth in the nine team standings.

Customs are the defending league champions and are yet to lose a game this season recording five wins in as many games including a 66-41 win over rival Tema Youth.

A win for Police could be enough to hold on to first place to the second round while victory in midweek and another on Saturday against Ghana Fire Service takes Braves to first place.
