2018 ABL First Round Review; schedule on point

Reformers beat Fire (yellow)
Police v Braves (white)
The 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season first round has come to an end with defending Champions Braves of Customs beating Ghana Fire Service 85-57 in the final game.

The round finale was played out at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu and the win sealed a flawless campaign for Braves in the round.

While the league goes on a break and only resumes in the aftermath of Ghana’s National Unity Games, Basketballghana.com takes a closer look at what transpired in the past round.

Special attention will be paid in this piece to the league’s schedule which has in the past not been followed mainly due to reasons beyond league management’s control.

In past seasons, set dates to honor games and complete rounds have largely not been met due to erratic weather conditions which is a major challenge considering league venues are not shielded from the weather.

The season begins close to the start of Ghana’s rainy season and a lot of games are postponed; however, the just ended round has been pretty smooth with just a couple of games called off due to wet conditions.
