Ghana Police Service has made a very good return to the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I by ending the first round of the 2018 season in second place.

The team has missed the past couple of elite basketball seasons on “administrative” grounds” and featured in Division II last season.

After qualifying to the top tier in first place ahead of fellow qualified teams Reformers of Prisons and Navy Warriors, the team ended in the top four of the just ended round.

Police ranks second behind defending league champions Braves of Customs and has 14 points from winning six of eight games.

The side produced big wins along the way including a 61-55 win over Tema Youth in a very closely fought contest and a 46-40 win over Tudu Magic.

However, Police lost heavily 52-90 against Braves and surprisingly lost 64-68 to Ghana Fire Service in what turned out to be Fire’s maiden win of the 2018 season.

The team returns from the midseason break after players set to compete in Ghana’s National Unity Games return.
