Varying success for promoted sides after first round

Three teams gained promotion from the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II to Division I this season but the respective teams have experienced mixed fortunes thus far.

The 2018 season first round is over and Ghana Police rank second with Navy Warriors and Reformers of Prisons in sixth and seventh place respectively.

Police ended the round with 14 points from winning six of eight games played and posting notable wins over top side Tema Youth via a 61-55 result.

However, of the three promoted teams, Police is the only side to end the round with a winning record and a positive goal difference of 66.

Warriors pulled off three wins against Reformers, DC Dynamics and Ghana Fire Service out of eight appearances and hold 11 points with -7 goal difference.

Reformers ended up with two wins finished in seventh place in the standings ahead of Fire Service and Dynamics. Defending league champions Braves of Customs lead the first round standings with 16 points.
