The final round of games in the third round of African qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China will be played later today.

Prior to the games, nations like Nigeria, Angola, Tunisia, Mali and Senegal have secured places in the final round to determine the continent’s five representatives in China next year.

However, some teams will have to battle it out to progress to the next stage including Group C host Egypt who have lost twice already.

Despite playing in front of passionate crowds in Cairo, Egypt have not been able to turn the support into wins losing 63-77 to bottom side Democratic Republic of Congo and 58-65 to Angola.

This means tonight’s North African showdown between Egypt and Morocco will be significant in determining whether Congo or Egypt progresses.

Congo play Angola at 15:30 GMT before Egypt plays Morocco at 18:00 GMT; a win for Congo and an Egyptian loss will put Congo ahead in the standings.

Uganda takes on Rwanda with the winner progressing to the next stage.
