This year’s National Unity Games start date in Ghana has been postponed from July 29 to August 12 and takes place in Cape-Coast.

The multi discipline sports festival takes place at the Robert Mensah Stadium following its return last year after a lengthy break.

Basketball and Wheelchair Basketball have been listed among the 12 sports areas athletes will compete in for medals at this year’s games.

Disciplines set to be celebrated next month include Badminton, Volleyball, Handball, Tennis, Table Tennis and Boxing.

The games will last for a week and end on August 19 with the basketball games to be held at the recently constructed edifice’s basketball courts.

Teams from Ghana’s ten regions will feature in both competitions with members from the West African country’s security services.

Players in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) and Tema Community Basketball League are in line to represent Greater Accra Region at the Games while those in security service teams get drafted by their mother bodies.

Last year’s competition was held in Kumasi.
