This year’s Sports Festival formerly known as the Unity Game was scheduled to commence on August 12 at Cape-Coast’s Robert Mensah Stadium.
However, the competition was cancelled earlier this week and a new date is yet to be announced by the planning committee.
Games in the ABL Men’s Division I and Women’s Division respectively were halted to allow players join regional teams to compete in the games.
The league board planned to return to action on August 23 but the latest development has thrown the plan into jeopardy.
News trickling in from the league board points to a quick resumption of the league but does not include games for tonight.
The nine team Male Division and six team Female Division are closing in on the final round of fixtures to end the 2018 regular season.
Braves of Customs and Ghana Police Service lead the respective divisions.
