

Ahead of the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup, Nigeria has appointed a new manager to guide its campaign in Spain next month.
The Nigerian Basketball Federation has appointed Otis Hughley as the D’Tigress new head coach after parting ways with Sam Vincent recently.
Hughley has served as an Assistant Coach with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and LeFlore High School Head Trainer in his career on the sidelines.
He has national team experience after leading Chinese Taipei to a fourth place finish in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship.
His appointment comes as the African Champions continue preparation for the world event which takes place from September 22-30.
Nigeria is set to play against tough opponents Australia, Argentina and Turkey at the group stage; the team is preparing in Atlanta.
Next month’s event has the United States of America as defending champions with Nigeria and Senegal representing Africa.
This is D’Tigress will feature in the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
