Senegal and Mali sealed qualification to the 2019 FIBA Under 19 World Cup a few weeks ago by featuring in the Africa Under 18 Championship.
Mali clinched the title via a 78-76 win over its fellow West African nation and over the weekend, the countries will square off but this time at the senior level.
The game is a FIBA 2019 World Cup qualifier and takes place at the National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, September 15.
Mali is coming off a 53-93 loss to Nigeria while Senegal beat Mozambique 78-63 in its last game played on July 1 in the previous round of qualification.
Senegal will play Rwanda while Mali takes on Central African Republic on Friday, September at the same venue. The game is one of the top fixtures marking the latest round of qualifying games on the continent for a place in China next year.
Tunisia and Morocco will face off in an all North Africa showdown in Tunis and Nigeria plays Ivory Coast in front of the Lagos crowd.
