More surprises in Tema League Playoffs tonight?

Coldstore (blue) v Rifles
Rangers topped Heat (white).
C2 (red) v Community 4.
Vikings (red) topped Francophone Stars
The opening round of this year’s Tema Community Basketball League playoffs got off to a shocking start as top ranked sides faltered.

With the exception of first seed Nungua Coldstore, the reaming members of the top four ranked seeds in the regular season suffered losses.

This means second seed Tema Heat, third seed Francophone Stars and fourth seed Tema Community 4 must win tonight to avoid a quick exit.

Heat lost 36-46 to seventh seed Teshie Rangers, Francophone lost 33-36 to sixth seed Teshie Vikings and defending champions Community 4 lost to fifth seed Community 2.

Coldstore on the other hand, had a straight forward win over Akatsi Rifles via a 78-38 result; Rifles stepped into the playoffs picture after Ashaiman Lions ceded its second seed by withdrawing from the competition.

2016 League champions Nungua are expected to secure a second straight win and progress to the next stage seeking to win a second league title.

Community 4 swept Lions to win last season’s final game series.
