Opoku Ware School Basketball Coach Alexander Obeng Takyi has promised his side will perform better at next year’s Sprite Ball Championship than what the school put up at the last edition.

In January this year, Opoku Ware strolled to the national Championship as defending champions but failed to qualify from the group stages losing two of three games.

Opoku Ware just retained its regional title at this year’s Ashanti Regional Championship beating Prempeh College 26-21 in the final game held at Our Lady of Grace Senior High School in Mamponteng.

In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after Friday’s win over rival Prempeh College, Takyi stated his team’s intentions ahead of next year’s Championship.

“I can’t really predict but what I can say is we will perform better than we did last year” Takyi stated in the interview.

Opoku Ware School won its first ever Sprite Ball title in December 2016 with a win over record winners Mfantsipim School. However, the school failed to defend its title.
