Mfantsipim Coach hopes to win 2019 Sprite Ball

Mfantsipim Basketball Coach Isaac Mensah has expressed his desire to win the Sprite Ball Championship Boys Division come January, 2019 in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com

The long tenured lead trainer of the competition’s record winners stated this after seeing off Adisadel College in the final game of the Central Regional qualifiers recently held in Cape-Coast.

Mfantsipim retained its regional title after clinching a 23-16 win over Adisadel. Both schools have will represent the region on January 11 and 12 at the El Wak Stadium in the national competition.

Mfantsipim has played in three consecutive finals at the main tournament starting with a loss to bitter rival St. Augustine’s College and Coach Mensah is eager to see the streak end.

“I am hoping that next year we will win the trophy because we have been waiting for the fifth trophy for a very long time. We have to (win)” he said.

Mfantsipim has won the tournament four times and is the dominant force in the division but lost twice to reigning Champions Osu-PRESEC.
