Braves of Customs chances of qualifying to next year’s FIBA AfroLeague Cup took a big hit after losing 53-66 to Civil Defenders of Nigeria.

The loss is the Ghanaian representatives third in the FIBA Africa Champions Cup Zone 3 qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin. Six teams from the West African sub region are participating in the competition.

However, a poor first quarter performances from Braves played a big role in losses to Rivers Hoopers from Nigeria and Eland Sportif from Benin to the ire of Coach Lawal Brimah.

Hoopers beat Braves 70-52 and Sportif scored an 81-64 win in the opening games but ended the losing run with a 75-50 win over AS Police from Niger.
