Three schools will represent Volta Region in the 2019 Sprite Ball Championship slated for January 11 and 12 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Bishop Herman College and Keta Business College have qualified to play in the Boys Division of the West African nation’s biggest high school basketball competition.
Mawuli Senior High School represents the Region in January next year in the Girls Division of the national competition.
This is Bishop Herman’s maiden appearance in the Championship after several failed attempts in previous editions. The likes of Kadjebi Asato have featured on the national stage.
The trio came out tops on in the recently held regional qualifiers which had a notable absentee in Keta Senior High School.
The 2014 National Champions did not participate as it serves a two year ban from the competition after fielding unqualified players in the 2018 edition. Keta qualified to the quarterfinals but was eliminated immediately after evidence showed two players were ineligible to play.
Mawuli’s Male side was also absent because of the same reasons.
