Defensive Player of the Year Winner Kwame Boamah

2018 Tema Community Basketball League Most Valuable Player Award Winner and Tema Heat player Benjamin Omari blames himself for his side’s loss in Game 3 of the Finals Series.

With the series tied heading to Game 3 this past Sunday, Tema Heat needed a win over Nungua Cldstore to win its maiden league title.

However, Heat blew away a seven point lead (47-40) with little over two minutes remaining to lose 49-53 to Nungua Coldstore and end up losing the Trophy.

Coincidentally, Omari was not on the court during the crucial end to the game due to foul trouble and he pointed that out in a chat with Basketballghana.com after the game.

He said, “We were supposed to keep the tempo down I fouled out and I had to sit out so when I came out I caused the team (trouble) in a way but it was a good fight.”

Omari was named MVP after dominating the playoffs. This is Nungua’s second league title.
