This year’s Sprite Ball Championship comes off on January 11-12 at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra and a draw to determine groups in the competition will be held later this week.

The draw will be held on Thursday, January 3 during the live broadcast of premier basketball program “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

One main feature to look forward to in the upcoming event is the presence of schools making their respective debuts in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball tournament.

12 schools have qualified to play in the Boys Division led by reigning champions PRESEC-Osu and record winners Mfantsipim School.

However, two schools will make their first ever appearance in the competition later this month and will know their fate on Thursday.

Sekondi College and Bishop Herman College made it past respective regional championships played late last year to make it to the celebrated national games.

There are no debutants in the Girls Division headlined by Kumasi Girls Senior High School and Accra Wesley Girls High School.
