Zibo Brown and Isaac Mensah have been named best Coaches at the 2019 Sprite Ball after leading their respective schools to victory at the prestigious competition.
Brown led Kumasi Girls Senior High School to win the Girls Division after recording a 22-14 win over Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School in the final.
Brown led Kumasi Girls to its maiden title last year and successfully defended the trophy thanks to another impressive campaign.
This is the first time since 2015 a team in the division has won back to back titles. Fellow Kumasi based school T.I. Ahmadiyya did it in 2014 and 2015.
In the Boys Division, Mensah had to battle hard for his Mfantsipim School to win its fifth title and extend its dominance in Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition.
After losing in three straight finals, KwaBotwe got over the hump thanks to a 35-16 win over West Africa Senior High School (WASS).
En route to winning its fifth title, Mfantsipim revenged its loss in last year’s finals by topping Osu PRESEC 24-14 in the semifinals.
