A year removed from having its representative star in the Sprite Ball Championship, Greater Accra had mixed results in this year’s competition.

The 2019 Sprite Ball Championship concluded over this past weekend at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with Mfantsipim School winning the Boys Division after beating West Africa Senior High School 35-16 in the final game.

Kumasi Girls Senior High School successfully defended its title thanks to a 22-14 win over Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School with Greater Accra schools missing out in both divisions.

The story was different in 2018 where PRESEC-Osu and Sacred Heart Senior High Technical School placed first and fourth in the Boys Division.

In the Girls Division, Accra Wesley Girls High School placed second but exited at the group stages in this year’s tournament.

PRESEC-Osu placed fourth with WASS coming in second in the 2019 edition with no Greater Accra rep making it to the top four spots in the Girls Division.

Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition.
