Regent University College of Science and Technology will host Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship zonal qualifiers this weekend.

The Accra based private University will host Zone 3 games in this year’s edition of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament.

The zonal qualifiers are scheduled to be played on Saturday, March 16 at Regent with Zone 3’s winner qualifying to the quarterfinals.

Host Regent, KAAF University College, Accra Institute of Technology and Marshalls University College are drawn in Zone 3.

This is the first time the University is hosting UPAC qualification games and comes off Regent’s maiden appearance in the competition last year. Regent missed out on progressing to the quarterfinals after losing to University of Education-Winneba 35-52.

Basketballghana.com gathers the court was constructed in October last year and has been in use since; this weekend’s competition is set to be the most high profile tournament held at the venue.

Koforidua Technical University and Takoradi Technical University qualified to the quarterfinals from Zones 1 and 2 respectively.
