KAAF University is preparing to compete in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship this weekend.

The institution’s Male Basketball is set to compete in Zone 3 in this year’s Championship on Saturday, March 16 at the Regent University College of Science and Technology.

KAAF is drawn alongside the host institution, Marshalls University College and Accra Institute of Technology in the Zone.

Playing on Saturday would be KAAF’s third appearance in Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition but the institution is yet to progress to the quarterfinals.

Only zonal winners of the Championship qualify to the next stage. Koforidua Technical University and Takoradi Technical University have progressed from Zones One and Two respectively.

The last time KAAF featured in the UPAC, the team lost 33-46 to eventual zonal winners University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and 25-35 to Regent University to crash out of the competition.

In the upcoming games, KAAF has a tough list including 2017 Silver Medalist Marshalls University College to beat and progress. The 2019 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
