Regent University College of Science and Technology Captain Gabriel Ashaley has stated his charges are motivated to make Regent proud in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

He made the statement as the team prepares to compete in Zone 3 of the 2019 UPAC Championship on Saturday, March 16.

Regent will host the zonal qualifiers this weekend with the winner progressing to the quarterfinals of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament.

The host institution is due to compete in the zone with Marshalls University College, KAAF University College and Accra Institute of Technology.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com exclusively, Ashaley was upbeat about his team’s motivation heading to the tournament.

“As second time participants of the UPAC Championship, we have been training very hard. Fortunately for us our school managed to build a court for us just last year October and so it has given us a massive boost to play more and make the school proud” he said.

Regent made its debut UPAC appearance last year. The 2019 UPAC Championship is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
