Ghana Forward Ernest Aflakpui registered a 16 point, 19 rebound double double in the loss for Temple. He was the only player on the Owls roster to score a double double.
Aflakpui added a block to his impressive stat line in 28 minutes as the starting Forward for Temple. The Owls earned a bye by placing fourth in the conference after the regular season.
The 6 foot 10 inch player was outstanding on the boards as he grabbed ten offensive rebounds to go with nine on the defensive end.
Ernest had an impressive outing on offense converting four of five free throws and six of ten attempts from two point range.
Guard Shizz Alston Jnr. led all Temple players in scoring with 20 points but Wichita State’s Markis McDuffie led the game with 34 points.
Wichita however missed the chance to play in the Conference Final after losing 63-66 to Cincinnati. Cincinnati plays Houston in the Final game later today.
