Founder tags Marshalls University “Giant Killers” after UPAC Zone 3 win

Marshalls University College Founder Dr. Tetteh Nettey has tagged the institution’s Men’s Basketball Team as “Giant Killers” following the team’s qualification to the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Marshalls topped Zone 3 in this year’s edition of UPAC held at the Regent University College of Science and Technology on Saturday, March 16.

The team beat Host Regent University 34-28 in the opening game and went past KAAF University College 30-22 to seal qualification. In both games Marshalls overcame big deficits in the early quarters to clinch the respective wins.

Reacting to the latest achievement from his institution, Dr. Nettey tagged the team as “Giant Killers” before stating “Marshalls…We win”.

Qualification ensured Marshalls did away with the poor performance shown in last year’s qualifiers where the team failed to make it to the quarterfinals despite playing in the 2017 UPAC Final game.

Marshalls join Koforidua Technical University and Takoradi Technical University in this year’s UPAC quarterfinals.
