Sunyani Technical University (STU) can’t wait to host games in Zone 4 of the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship according to STU’s Sports Director Samuel Annor.

He made the statement in a brief chat with Basketballghana.com ahead of the qualifiers on Friday, March 22 with a spot in the quarterfinals of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament up for grabs.

STU is set to battle University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) and Kintampo College of Health for the sole quarterfinal slot in the zone.

After witnessing the impact of hosting the qualifiers on its campus for the first time, Director Annor stated his entourage “can’t wait” to host the qualifiers for the second time.

STU topped the zone last year as host and qualified to play in the knockout games in Accra for the second time in the competition’s history. The institution played in UPAC Championship’s maiden edition quarterfinals.

Sunyani beat out then defending zonal champions UENR to qualify. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
