Scorpions poor run in GSP League continues

STU won bronze at the GHATUSA Games in February.

Barracks Scorpions are having a hard time coping with the demands in the second half of the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League season.

The team just lost its second game heavily at the hands of Spartans thanks to a 19-46 result in the latest round of games played in the league.

A disappointing second quarter was the undoing of Scorpions trailing 5-10 after the first quarter. Scorpions fell 6-21 to Spartans heading to the second half.

Barracks lost 15-32 to fellow strugglers West Siders in the previous round. Both losses were recorded at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court.

STU had an easy win in the round as the tertiary side walked away with a win via forfeiture following LIR’s failure to show up for the matchup between the two.

This was an unorthodox way for STU to rebound following a 27-33 loss to Catholic University College in Zone 4 of the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The loss eliminated STU from the competition.
