Ghana and Austin Spurs Center Amida Brimah has been voted into the NBA Gatorade League All Defensive Team of the Year after another top performance on the defensive end of the court in the recently ended 2018-2019 Regular season.
This is Brimah’s second straight inclusion in the acclaimed group after his debut season last year had him named into the Team. Despite failing to make the playoffs this season, the 6 foot 10 inch player’s body of work was enough to get Brimah votes.
The former University of Connecticut Captain averaged 8.8 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game in 47 games this season.
He joins a list headlined by Most Valuable Player Award and Defensive Player of the Year Award winner Chris Boucher formerly of Raptors 905. Boucher’s standout play made him the first Canadian to win the MVP Award and has since joined Toronto Raptors.
Gary Paton II, Kadeem Allen and Norvel Pelle round up the list. Brimah and Allen were named in last year’s All Defensive Team.
