Mensah Sarbah Hall has emerged winners of the University of Ghana (UG) Inter Hall Basketball League ahead of Commonwealth Hall.

Sarbah Hall clinched the title after beating Commonwealth Hall 58-40 in the final played at the Central Court of Ghana’s premier tertiary institution.

The winning team had members of the institution’s main team including Forward Aminu Mohammed and Treasure Botchwey feature in the game. This victory comes prior to UG’s participation in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship preliminary stage.

UG is drawn Zone 8 and plays Central University, Regional Maritime University and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Saturday, April 6 for a place in the quarterfinals.

UG is hosting the zonal qualifiers and games in the knockout phase of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition. Quarterfinal games are scheduled for April 11 and 12 with the semifinals and final game scheduled for April 13.

The host institution has won the UPAC Championship in three straight years and aims for a record extending fourth title this year.
