Finalists in the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship have been seeded for the quarterfinal draw in this year’s competition.

The draw for the 2019 UPAC Quarterfinals is scheduled to take place today on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports’ “HeadStart” at 7:30 am.

Accra Technical University (ATU) and University of Ghana (UG) have been seeded for the draw gathers.

The two institutions will headline the prospective groups in this year’s competition where three other qualified institutions will join in each group.

ATU lost in last year’s final 36-41 to UG despite taking a seven point lead to the second half of an entertaining game at UG’s Central Court.

UG battled hard to clinch its third straight title to become the most successful team in the history of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition.

Today’s draw will feature newbies Koforidua Technical University and Catholic University College, Ghana who qualified from the zonal stage for the first time.

The quarterfinal games are scheduled for UG on Friday, April 12. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
