He won the top award after leading UG to the 2019 title thanks to a 37-32 win over Takoradi Technical University (TTU) this past weekend.

Coach Samori caught the eye of technical selectors with the efficient use of his starters and calling correct plays at big stages in games.
Those traits were needed when UG trailed by seven points late in the semifinal clash against Accra Technical University (ATU) but recovered to win 51-50.
UG trailed 24-21 at the end of the third quarter against TTU in the final game but rested starters Emmanuel Wolff and Treasure Botchwey return to the lineup to deliver big shots and clinch the win.
