American born Ghanaian Small Forward Bashir Ahmed was in action for Prishtina in the Kosovo Basketball League Championship opener.

Ahmed scored eight points in Prishtina’s 110-82 win over Rahoveci late Saturday, May 4 to take a lead in the finals series.

Dardan Berisha led Prishtina with 20 points, four steals and five assists offsetting Rahoveci Guard DeShon Minnis’ 30 points and four steals.

Bashir came off the bench and registered eight points, two steals and a rebound in 12 minutes of action in his first playoffs since turning pro in 2018.

The 6 foot 7 inch St. John’s University product converted one of three shots from three point range and free throw line respectively. He scored two of four field goal attempts.

Since signing from Argentine side Lorenzo, Bashir has played 13 games for Prishtina and is averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24.5 minutes.

Bashir was born to Ghanaian parents in New York and played at Hutchinson Community College before transferring to St. John’s but went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft.
