Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division Champions Ghana Police Service soundly beat Tudu Galaxy on Saturday at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.

By scoring an eye popping 84-18 win over Galaxy, Police matched bitter rival Braves of Customs equally heavy 89-14 win over University of Ghana.

While Braves prepared to return to Ghana after a weeklong trip to Kenya, Police has built up a two game winning run of big wins. Police recorded a 60-31 win over Ghana Navy before taking on Galaxy.

Police had a 19-2 first quarter lead. Stretched it to 34-3 in the second quarter Police Forward Zinatu Musah scored a basket off the bench with teammates Barikisu Sadat and Georgina Ntow scoring most of the team’s points

Third quarter Police led 58-5 after Mavis Nyarko drained a three pointer for Police while Ayishetu Malike scored Galaxy’s only basket in the quarter.

Galaxy Point Guard Ruth Atibila drained a three pointer to open the final quarter. Sadat responded with an off balance shot inside the paint.

Atibila completed a three point play as Galaxy’s play improved. Police Zinatu Musah scored while Galaxy’s Humu Yakubu scored a tough jump shot at the other end.
