The official launch of the upcoming Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games takes place later today at the University of Ghana (UG), Legon.

The event is scheduled to commence at 15:00 GMT at the institution’s Great Hall per information reaching

UG will host the multi sport event in January next year taking over from University of Development Studies (UDS) who held the competition in 2018, in Tamale.

Today’s event will air live on Ghana’s premier university’s media platforms in the first of many programs put in place to ensure a successful tournament in 2020.

Athletes will compete in several sports disciplines including football, volley ball, tennis, athletics, badminton, tae kwon do, table tennis and handball.

The host institution has gained major attention for its success in basketball in recent years and will rank as favourites for the title.

UG’s Male side has won the UPAC Championship in four straight years plus the 2016 and 2018 GUSA titles. The team also bagged the All Africa University Games gold medal in 2016 and 2018.

The Female side placed second in 2018.
