Rangers deliver biggest shock in Tema League

Teshie Rangers caused the biggest upset in the latest round of games in the Tema Community Basketball League after grabbing victory at the expense of impressive league debutant Sakumono Titans.

The last ranked side in the league, Rangers, beat Titans 36-29 in the first of four games played at the Tema Community 4 Court.

Prior to beating Titans, Rangers had recorded just a win in five league appearances while Titans only sat behind defending league champions Nungua Coldstore in the standings.

However, there were few or no shock results recorded in the remaining games as Akatsi Rifles lost 38-64 to Francophone Stars, Teshie Vikings lost 50-55 to Tema Community 2 and Coldstore beat Tema Rockets 49-35.

Last season’s winners Coldstore are running away with the first seed in the regular season as the team is yet to lose a game in eight appearances.

On the other hand, Rifles slump after a three game winning run was extended further following the 26 point loss to Francophone Stars who had lost three of four games before the fixture.
