Ghanaian Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass increased his scoring tally in his second appearance for Italy as the European nation continues preparations for the upcoming World Cup.

The 2019 FIBA World Cup tips off on August 31 and ends on September 15 in China with 32 nations competing; USA is the defending champion.

After beating Romania 88-60 earlier this week, Italy scored another big win defeating Senegal 111-54 with Abass scoring 13 points. In the win over Romania, the 6 foot 7 inch Swingman scored 10 points.

He was one of five players to score in double figures for Italy in Italy’s second straight win in the pretournament Verona Cup.

Pietro Aradori and Michele Vitali scored 15 points respectively, Amedeo Della Valle scored 12 points and Alessandro Gentile added 10 points.

Italy continues to play without three elder statesmen Danilo Gallinari-recovering from minor surgery-, Marco Belinelli and Gigi Datome.

Brescia Forward Abass is hoping to make the final 12 man roster for Italy. Senegal had just one player score in double figures Babacar Toure.
