Kwame Debrah and Irada Yunus were named Most Valuable Player Award winners at the just ended Accra Mayor’s Cup played at the Bukom Arena in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

The pair was instrumental in Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) and West Africa Senior High School winning the Mayor’s Cup.

Debrah powered PRESEC’s offense to a 33-20 win over St. Thomas Aquinas High School in the Boys Division Final Game.

Yunus did same as West Africa Senior High outlasted a strong Accra Wesley Girls High School to clinch the Girls Division via a 13-11 result.

PRESEC Shooting Guard Debrah impressed against St. Thomas Aquinas with a three point shot and two break away dunks including the last shot of the final game.

Yunus created scoring opportunities for her mates and defended Accra Wesley’s Hawa Nasiru well on the other side of the court.

Both players were presented with items from sports apparel firm and Mayor’s Cup partner Decathlon and are expected to lead their respective teams in qualifiers for the Sprite Ball Championship.
