Defending Tema Community Basketball League Champions Nungua Coldstore and three other winning teams in the opening round of games in the playoffs are a step closer to the semifinals of the ongoing postseason.

Nungua Coldstore beat Sakumono Titans 50-48 in the opening game at Tema Community 4’s Court this past weekend; Titans are led by former Coldstore Coach Kenneth Caesar.

Titans did well by qualifying to the playoffs for the first time in its league debut and get another chance to beat Coldstore on Sunday, December 5 at 16:30 GMT.

In other results from Round One, Spintex Knights beat Tema Heat 47-44, Tema Rockets clinched a 52-44 win over Tema Community 2 while home side Tema Community 4 recorded a 39-36 win over Tema Wildcats.

With the exception of Knights, the remaining debutants in the playoffs-Wildcats and Knights-lost this past Sunday; Spintex Knights play Tema Heat first in Round Two this Sunday at 15:30 GMT at the same venue.

The playoffs come on the heels of the Africa Basketball Festival that had several league players compete in the All Star Game for Tema.
